Lino Circular Title

 Having trouble keeping the lettering tight for 'Marla', too spaced out

 Need to bunch it together, initial sketch

 Measured out lettering

Traced out onto lino, will cut out tonight ready for printing tomorrow on illustrative vinyl idea

Experimenting with Vinyl idea

 Black screenprinted hand cut font, shaped to the owls silhouette. 

 Changed the colour to tie into the image's colour scheme, softer and more natural than the stark black.

Lastly, I used Carson Ellis' method of cutting the lettering out of the image and therefore making a more interesting composition and form. I really like this method.

Refining Initial Vinyl Designs

Brightened the background for a cheery and altogether more fresh look :)
Laid a base of tissue paper and emulsioned over the top, thinned the branches and collaged and then layered larger and fewer leaves and finally lino cut two colours to give more depth and texture. I am much happier with the result.
